Nuffnang Blog Awards, Here I Come

blogawards

It’s that time again, the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards is on! Come 16 December 2011, 500 bloggers from around the Asia-Pacific region will flock to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the Awards in Putrajaya Marriott. The Awards aims to not only honour the region’s best bloggers, but also to bring together blogger communities from across Asia-Pacific.

These lucky enough to win their respective categories get a free trip to the awards being held in Malaysia…for everyone else, there is a blogging contest!

So basically, what I need to do to win is to blog out 3 reasons why I want to attend this Nuffnang Awards, so without blabbering on and risking losing the attention of the contest judges, here we go!

1)      I want to meet loads of like-minded-awesome-geeky-online-blogging people! I simple love meeting people (as apparent from tweeting to 50,000+ followers on twitter!) whether it’s to learn from them, or just to hear their story, everyone has one, and they are all unique. If I attend, I promise to say hi, and talk with everyone there, no matter what they blog about, or where they are from, even if they don’t speak English.  (I got a card up my sleeve for that!)

2)      I want to be a winner! Not only that, I want to win a chance to be with other winners! It’s always been a childhood dream of my mine to be a winner…winning golden tickets to the Nuffnang Blog Awards in particular (or was that Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory?). But on a serious note, the best and brightest of the blogging world (technically it’s only Asia-Pacific, but who pays attention to Americans and the British anyway?) will be attending, and I see it as a fantastic opportunity to connect, network and learn from them. A few years back, I started my blog with a passion of helping kids and teenagers with one of the most important aspects of their life – their financial future. However, years later, work, bills and life in general can take their toll. I believe spending time with the stars of the blogging community will do so much to rekindle these flames!

3)      Because I will I seriously need a vacation! I’m a workaholic if there ever was on, I practically have 3 full-time jobs! (my day job, my 5 siblings, and my blog) and by the time December rolls around, it will be almost 2 years since I took a vacation! And Malaysia would be absolutely perfect. Have always been a huge fan of Malaysian culture and cuisine! (Even buddies with owners of a well known Malaysian restaurant in Sydney!). Plus what better way to get away from 40°C summer days in Sydney?

Anyway, these are my three reasons! Wish me luck and hope to see you all in Malaysia!
