Hill discovered from analyzing 25,000 persons that men who succeed big time rarely did so before age 40 and, more often, did not really hit their stride until well after age 50. He found the major reason for this was their tendency to drain their energy through over indulgence in sex.

Edgar Allan Poe wrote “The Raven” under the influence of liquor. Robert Burns wrote best when intoxicated. But many such men destroyed themselves in the end. But sexual energy is a natural stimulant that people can safely use to lift their minds to the creative plane.
There is a close connection between sexual desire and spiritual urges, which explains the behavior of people who participate in the wild, passionate proceedings known as religious revivals. The world is ruled by emotions. People are influenced to act by feelings more than by reason. The creative imagination is activated entirely by emotions and not by rational thought. The most powerful of all human emotions is sexual desire.
A teacher who trained more than 30,000 sales people discovered that highly sexed men are the most efficient salesmen. The explanation for this is personal magnetism is sex energy. Highly sexed people always have plenty of magnetism. If cultivated and understood, this vital force may be used to benefit relationships between people. Sex energy can be communicated to others in the following useful ways:
1. Handshake. The touch of the hand instantly shows magnetism or the lack of it.
2. Tone of voice. Magnetism colors the voice, making it musical and charming.
3. Posture and body language. Highly sexed people move briskly with grace and ease.
4. The quality of thoughts. Highly sexed people mix sexual energy with their thoughts at will and, thusly, influence those around them.
5. Attractive clothing. People who are highly sexed are usually very careful about their personal appearance, wearing clothes that fit their personality, physique, complexion, etc.
Public speakers, preachers, lawyers, or salesmen who lack sexual energy lack enthusiasm. Thus, they cannot inspire, influence, or persuade others into any desired action. Most people are influenced through appeals to their emotions. Successful salesmen are successful because, consciously or unconsciously, they transmute their sexual energy into sales enthusiasm. “The salesman who knows how to take his mind off the subject of sex and direct it instead toward sales efforts with as much enthusiasm and determination as he would apply to its original purpose has acquired the art of sex transmutation, whether he knows it or not.” Most successful salesmen transmute their sexual energy without being aware of it.
Love, romance, and sex are all emotions that can push men to heights of incredible achievement. Love and romance are the emotions that ensure fair and constructive efforts. Without the emotions of love and romance, the powerful force of sex alone transmuted into definite plans to succeed in the fields of industry and finance produce geniuses who ruthlessly ride over the rights of their fellow men.
Encourage love, romance, and sex as the dominating thoughts in your mind and discourage the presence of all the destructive emotions, such as jealousy, fear, and anger. Control your mind through persistence and habit by taking any negative thought that enters your mind and replacing it with the positive trio of love, romance, and sex. This is the process of voluntary transmutation.
The emotions of love and romance bring out and develop the artistic and creative nature in us. They leave their impression on our souls even after the original flame dims from time and circumstances. But memories of love never die. They guide and influence our lives long after the source of stimulation is gone. Everyone who experienced true love knows it leaves a permanent impression on the human heart.
Love is life’s greatest experience. Through it, we access infinite intelligence. When mixed with the emotions of romance and sex, it can take us to the height of our creativity. Nature creates geniuses through the combined powers of love, romance, and sex.
Romantic, sexual love is much more powerful as a creative force than our love for our parents, children, or friends. Hill explained it like this: “Man’s greatest motivating force is his desire to please woman! The hunter who excelled during prehistoric days, before the dawn of civilization, did so because of his desire to appear great in the eyes of woman. Man’s nature has not changed in this respect. The ‘hunter’ of today brings home no skins of wild animals but indicates his desire for her favor by supplying fine clothes, motor cars, and wealth. Man has the same desire to please woman that he had before the dawn of civilization. The only thing that has changed is his method of pleasing. Men who accumulate large fortunes and attain to great heights of power and fame do so mainly to satisfy their desire to please women. [¶] Take women out of their lives and great wealth would be useless to most men. It is this inherent desire of man to please woman which gives woman the power to make or break a man.”
STEP 11: THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND: THE CONNECTING LINK
The subconscious mind collects data from the five senses, sorts it, and stores it for later use by the conscious mind. The subconscious mind does not discriminate or select the data it receives. However, as previously explained, the subconscious mind can be trained through auto-suggestion to translate your burning desire mixed with faith into reality.
The subconscious mind works in mysterious ways. It works day and night on the problem habitually set before it, drawing upon infinite intelligence for inspiration, until it finally presents to the conscious mind the practical plan to solve the problem.
The 13 Steps to Riches are ways for you to influence your subconscious mind. You can direct your subconscious mind only through the habit of burning desire mixed with faith. It takes time to master faith. Be patient, but be persistent. Remember, if you do not work to influence your subconscious mind by filling it with the positive thoughts of your burning desire mixed with faith, it will continue to feed indiscriminately on thoughts of fear, poverty, and many other negative thoughts that sabotage your success.
STEP 12: THE BRAIN: THE BROADCASTING AND RECEIVING STATION FOR THOUGHT
Every human brain is both a broadcasting station and a receiving station for thoughts. Like a radio, the human brain can pick up thought vibrations released from other brains.
Our creative imagination is the receiving part of our brains. When our minds are filled with positive emotions—desire, faith, hope, love, enthusiasm, romance, and sex—our creative imagination receives the brilliant ideas that are floating around in the air. Of all the positive emotions, sex is the most intense. Hence, sexual transmutation plays a big part in enhancing your creative imagination’s receptive powers. The negative emotions to avoid because they block our reception of brilliant ideas are: fear, jealousy, hatred, revenge, greed, superstition, and anger.
Our subconscious mind is the broadcasting part of our brains. When we use auto-suggestion to fill our minds with the positive emotion of a burning desire for riches, transmuted from the sex desire, our subconscious mind sends out messages to others to help us. Our subconscious mind also sends messages to our own bodies to act immediately on the brilliant ideas when we so mysteriously receive them. The positive emotions and negative emotions, listed in the previous paragraph, also enhance or obstruct our subconscious minds’ ability to perform this amazing function.
